Apprise AI — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Apprise AI ("Apprise", "we") is an iOS app that identifies antiques from photos and estimates their market value. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
Information we collect
- Photos you submit for appraisal. When you photograph an item, the image is sent to our servers and to our AI vision provider (OpenAI) to generate the identification and value estimate. Photos are used only to produce your appraisal.
- Appraisal results and your collection. Items you save are stored on your device and synced to our backend (Supabase) under an anonymous account identifier so your collection can be restored.
- Onboarding answers. Your quiz selections (interests, collection size, goals) are used to personalize the app experience.
- Feedback. If you rate or correct an appraisal, we store that feedback to improve accuracy.
What we do not collect
- We do not require a name, email address, or account sign-up.
- We do not access your photo library beyond the photos you explicitly submit.
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
Third-party services
- OpenAI — processes submitted photos to identify items.
- Supabase — stores synced collection data under an anonymous identifier.
- Apple StoreKit — handles subscription purchases.
Data retention and deletion
Saved items remain until you delete them in the app. Deleting an item removes it from your device and from our backend. To request deletion of all data associated with your anonymous account, contact us.
Children
Apprise is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected in the app.
